1991 was a big year: the Soviet Union fell, the Internet was made available to the masses and in a little corner of the world at 514 Main Street in Evanston, The Lucky Platter was born!
Our mission has always been to excite your palette and your senses with our creative take on comfort classics such as Yankee Pot Roast with mashed potatoes and baby bok choy, to our Chicken Pot Pie with pulled chicken and ratatouille baked in a flaky crust. All of our, pastries, sauces and dressings are made from scratch daily by our staff, some of whom have been with us for over a decade!
We enjoy shaking things up and our menus reflect that. Changing seasons and evolving inspiration make it so our guests can always count on something new popping up.
As one of the hottest brunch restaurants around, people crowd in to start their weekend days off with a menu that is like no other! Our food is as diverse as the guests who enjoy it. Where else can you find Fried Green Tomato Benedicts and Beyond Meat Philly Cheesesteak sandwiches? And you can wash it down with a Classic Mimosa or one of our many Mocktails seven days a week!
We are open Breakfast, Lunch every day till 2pm & Dinner six nights a week, but if that’s not enough, take us home with you. Our menu is available for carryout and delivery through our website. We also offer larger quantities of soups, pastries and salad dressings for those of you who just want more!
We feel so fortunate to have built a base of so many regulars, some of which have been enjoying our unique blend of humor and deliciousness since the beginning. To them, we say thank you! Perhaps though, some of our favorite moments are seeing new faces discovering the Platter for the first time. The surprised looks and expressions after their first bite of a Tandoori Salmon Salad or the Moroccan Vegetable Tagine, keeps us going strong, knowing that we still got it! Thanks for checking us out!
